These guidelines apply to the Mercado on Fifth in Moline, Illinois. The volunteer work supports our primary objectives. We thank the volunteers, who are generously giving their time and talents to enhance the quality of life in this corner of the world.  

Here are a few things we ask the volunteers to remember while volunteering:

1. Be punctual and reliable. Arrive at least 10 minutes early to receive instructions.

2. Give notice if your availability changes. Please contact us no later than noon the day of the event you are scheduled to volunteer for.

3. Help to resolve any issues and work with others in an appropriate manner. Mercado staff will be available to assist you if needed.

4. Report any injuries or hazards that you notice at Mercado staff as soon as they are discovered so that they can be documented and resolved in a timely manner.

5. Carry out all the duties listed in your volunteer position description.

Volunteer duties may include:
• Assisting with event cleanup
• Monitoring the children’s play area
• Helping with crowd flow and safety
• Providing support for our stage and performers
• Protecting intersections and ensuring guest safety
